Yes, this bug appeared in r3895 and was also commented in the old mailinglist

 http://osflash.org/pipermail/red5_osflash.org/2009-November/038298.html

but AFAIK it's not fixed yet. I've uploaded a simple videoplayer just to test this wrong behaviour of Red5

[using Red5 r3890]
 http://babeliumproject.com/tests/r3890/FlexVideoPlayer.html

[using Red5 r3895]
 http://babeliumproject.com/tests/r3895/FlexVideoPlayer.html

The demo plays the same video with the following results: in the r3890 version, it works like a charm, but in r3895 it seems that
almost every second, the flv file is freezing about 0.5 sec and continuing to play and freezing again... I have searched the bug archive and found this related bug: http://trac.red5.org/ticket/655

(the test video in the previous URLs has metada - cuepoints - embedded also)

I've applied the user supplied patch from #655 without any luck..

Should you need any more information or more specific details, please ask for them. Thanks for your help!

is this still an issue with r4176 or later?

Hi Magog,

I think so. At least, after applying Lance Cooper's patch to PlayEngine

 http://old.nabble.com/-PATCH--PlayEngine-race-conditions-to30079890.html#a30091199
I can seek backwards without problems but the video flow freezes when I try to seek forward.

I hope that with the recently announced 1.0 version this bug will be closed.

This problem is related to this other one #965 (  http://red5.org/ticket/965 )
and, guess what? Joachim Bauch has fixed the issue in the r4176 :-)
 http://code.google.com/p/red5/source/detail?r=4176

Keep up the good work!

Magog, could you check that this issue is fixed also in your tests so we can (finally) ask for closing this bug? Thanks!

Oh, never mind, didn't realize that magog IS Joachim Bauch ;-P  http://www.joachim-bauch.de/about/
Crazy... anyway, thanks a lot for the fix, a great gift for Christmas!
Sooo... Joachim, do you think that it will be ok to close this bug?
